Historical record. Dates, affiliations and project descriptions reflect the period reported in the original WAHTN material.
A coordinated research response
WAHTN coordinated a collaborative response to COVID-19 across its partner organisations, following requests from the WA Department of Health and the WA Health Minister. The collaboration brought research sectors together to study and minimise the health and wider consequences of the pandemic.
How the collaboration worked
- Connecting researchers, partner institutions and relevant expertise across WA.
- Supporting data and specimen capture and the infrastructure needed for research.
- Supporting existing clinical trials and initiating studies addressing COVID-19.
- Holding regular collaboration and advisory group meetings to coordinate research and inform service delivery.
Preserving the collaboration record
The collaboration created a shared record of research priorities, meetings, projects and available expertise. These documents remain available in a public historical archive.
